Summer Program Intern

Location: New York City (remote or hybrid)
Salary: $17/hour for undergraduate students, $20/hour for graduate students
Start Date: June 2024

The Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Program Team in New York City as a Summer Program Intern.  Our mission at FSVC is to deliver cutting-edge technical assistance to strengthen financial sectors in developing countries.  We deliver this assistance mostly by recruiting senior-level financial experts to serve as volunteers on short-term activities.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct research on political and economic issues in developing countries;
  • Work alongside program staff to plan projects and close out projects;
  • Draft reports and communication pieces;
  • Provide support with website and social media updates and strategy; and
  • Provide general administrative, organizational and logistical support to FSVC.

 

What You’ll Need

The Summer Program Intern is a part-time position with flexible hours.  Applicants should be pursuing studies related to international relations, economic development and/or non-profit management. The opportunity is ideal for someone interested in international development seeking experience in program management and business development.

A Little About Us…

Since 1990, FSVC has been delivering technical assistance projects in over 70 countries.  These projects focus, among others, on helping banks lend to small businesses, setting up deposit insurance to protect people’s savings, and helping governments manage their budgets more effectively and transparently.  Sound, inclusive and transparent financial infrastructures are critical to support job creation and support lasting economic growth in these countries.  To do so, we provide objective technical assistance that focuses on sustainable, locally-owned impact.  We are built on a culture of respect for all staff members, volunteer experts and counterparts.
